This International Women’s Day, we want to take a moment to celebrate our two doctors, Dr. Mazza and Dr. Hayes.
Dr. Mazza decided to pursue optometry because she has always found the eye fascinating. So fascinating that she even chose it as the topic of one of her school science projects! She has owned her own practice since 2004, and we’re continually inspired by how she balanced becoming a new mother while building and running her practice.
She has a passion for helping patients of all ages and finds it incredibly fulfilling to give the gift of sight. Her patients appreciate how much time she takes with them and how persistent she is in finding the right solution for their vision needs.
Outside the office, her love for the outdoors often takes her to the beach for a relaxing walk. She also loves all things science and is always happy to share her knowledge and enthusiasm with others. She travels whenever she can and is currently planning a trip to Spain this August to experience the eclipse!
Dr. Hayes decided to become an optometrist at just 17 years old. With a lifelong interest in science and medicine, and as a contact lens and glasses wearer herself, she spent plenty of time visiting her own optometrist growing up.
As an extrovert, she loves the diverse population optometry allows her to connect with. Building relationships with her patients and seeing them return year after year is one of her favorite parts of the job.
While she cares deeply for all her patients, she has a special interest in pediatrics. With her bubbly personality, every visit is a fun experience for both her and her pediatric patients (we’re not quite sure who has more fun!).
Outside of work, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family. She recently became a mom and often says it’s been the greatest joy of her life (apart from marrying her husband, of course 😉).
Thank you from your Family Vision Center team! It’s a great pleasure working alongside two wonderful doctors!
