Know your herbs! π±
π‘ Herbs arenβt just a great way to add flavor to your meals. Theyβve also been shown to have an array of different health benefits. I donβt know about you but I love adding a combination of different spices to my meals!
π± Donβt tell the other herbs this, but cilantro is probably my favorite. Whatβs yours?

π³ Sage - a double blind placebo trial showed improvements to memory using sage essential oil extract.
πΏ Rosemary - The antioxidants rosmarinic acid & carnosic acid in rosemary soak up the free radicals that appear in the charred meat when you grill at high temps over an open flame
π Parsley - contains powerful antioxidants including flavonoids, vitamin K, C & A and carotenoids which can all help fight free radicals
π± Cilantro - This 2010 study showed the potential of cilantro (coriandrum sativum) to protect against lead-induced oxidative stress in mice
π¬ Peppermint - peppermint oil reduced incidence and severity of nausea & vomiting in a study in 200 people undergoing chemotherapy for cancer
π Basil - Orientin and viceninare two water-soluble flavonoids in basil that help to protect cells against radiation and oxidative damage. Studies also show the effective of basil in restricting growth in numerous bacteria
