Meet, “Olive.”
She is a calming presence in my practice for everyone that walks through our door. Olive is a certified therapy and service dog and is ready to give you love if you so choose. The presence of animals can trigger the body to release hormones such as serotonin and oxytocin which reduces stress and promotes relaxation. Detachment is a tool people can utilize to release emotional turmoil brought on by other people, places or situations. When we get too wrapped up in things we can’t control, we begin feeling overwhelmed, anxious or depressed and unhealthy medicaters to cope. Detaching with love allows for a feeling of freedom from turmoil that is not your own. It is not always easy to practice, especially with loved ones, but it is a tool if you desire some peace in your life when there is chaos around you. Practicing a simply mantra can help with detachment, “I’m giving myself permission to disengage” or “I’m observing without absorbing” ❤️

This is a fresh perspective on how to look at challenges. What is your soul needing to learn through the obstacles presenting to you? Perhaps it’s the same obstacle over and over again. I’ve seen this time and time again. What if we leaned into the resistance of the obstacle versus trying to avoid it? Growth and liberations is always on the other side of pain and challenge. And until we learn the lesson, life has a way of repeating the obstacle time and time again. Try something different- view obstacles as opportunities which will open up a brand new path of beauty for you once mastered.

Taken from my favorite theorist, Carl Jung who was so incredibly influential in the psychology field. He was a brilliant man. Becoming… transforming… we all have opportunities through our lifetime to choose the journey to enlightenment. Through the obstacles and often times painful journey, we have the privilege to become who we are truly meant to be. This takes work- commitment, willingness, honesty, and a tribe of people who can help support you. Through the pain of becoming, you will see major shifts moving into gratitude, peace and love. How many individuals, when encountering a problem, tend to seek solutions through discussion with others? While this approach can be helpful, it can also be overused. In reality, sometimes, all that is necessary is a moment of quiet contemplation, meditation, and prayer, and the answers sought will become clear. By decreasing external distractions, such as work, responsibilities, and social media, and tapping into our inner wisdom, individuals can cultivate a valuable practice. This approach can lead to a greater understanding of oneself and, for those who choose, a deeper connection with a higher power.

This is hard…. Especially with family and friends. But the truth is not everyone is good for us that we surround ourselves with. Having boundaries, being your own advocate, verbalizing your feelings and sticking up for yourself can be scary. Maybe you’ve never done it, aren’t used to it or you’re around people who don’t have their own boundaries. Perhaps you are scared that if you set boundaries for yourself, the person will no longer be in your life. Whatever the reasons, your mental health and feelings matter. When we don’t set boundaries for ourselves, we suffer with things like anxiety/depression, low self esteem, addictions, nervous system issues and much more. Ask yourself, Do I really want this person in my life that doesn’t respect my boundaries or my feelings?” The more you practice this, the more room you make for healthy relationships. You matter. You are important. Be brave!

Empowerment. The act of gaining confidence, becoming stronger and claiming one’s rights and life back. Recognizing your beauty, power and abilities within. A knowing that everything and everyone that walks in your path are teachers. Acceptance. Forgiveness. Love. Letting Go of things that no longer serve you and your greater purpose. Leading by spirit, not the mind. This photo of me represents all of that. I am at the mercy of one of the seven wonders of the world- the Grand Canyon. The magnificence of this place is undeniable. I am at the edge of the cliff and am at total peace. Truly and perfectly in the moment. That my friends is total freedom. You too can achieve that. I am grateful for every single one my teachers. The latest research indicates that up to 5% of the population has NPD. The facts are these people are good at hiding who they are to the public and it is easy, no matter who you are, to be fooled by them. They are master actors and highly abusive. You may find yourself in the trap of the abusive cycle from the narcissist. You are not alone. Some people do not even recognize they are in the cycle because of the “breadcrumbs” they sprinkle on you. Find help- through a therapist and/or a supportive network of people. You can break free and become empowered to live the life you deserve.
