I am Dr. Nikia Phillips, DNP, the inaugural Black midwife to own and operate an independent practice in Palm Beach County, Wellington, FL, NP Family Practice & Midwifery Care. I am proud to honor the legacy of pioneers who have paved the way for future generations through their fortitude, creativity, and contributions. During this month, I take the time to learn, share, and appreciate the many ways in which Black individuals continue to shape our world, both past and present.
