Do you know how to prevent and respond to an overdose? It is important for all of us to be aware of the signs of an overdose and how to respond to one. πŸ’œ

If you do suspect someone is having an overdose, naloxone and nalmefene are lifesaving medications you can use to reverse opioid overdoses. If you think someone is overdosing and they’re unresponsive, act fast. Administer naloxone or nalmefene as quickly as possible and call 911. If you want to be prepared, you can get Naloxone at the Sumner County Health Department. With the rise in fentanyl-laced pills, naloxone is a great tool to have to reverse an opioid overdose.

Did you know? Most teens and young adults in Kansas say they are NOT using pills that aren’t prescribed to them.

While this is great news, it’s also important to spread awareness that even ONE time taking an unprescribed pill could be fatal. Almost all fake pills contain fentanyl β€” and 5 out of 10 contain a deadly amount.

Help spread the word by sharing this post!

: The only pill you can trust is one that is prescribed to you by a medical professional, filled at a licensed pharmacy, and taken as directed. If you or someone you know is struggling, we’re here to help, 24/7/365 β€” just call 988.
