Are you ready to make a real difference in your community? Join us for an upcoming naloxone rescue training session this spring, where you'll learn how to potentially save a life! 📅

While training isn't mandatory, we highly recommend it. Our experienced overdose trainers will prepare you with essential knowledge and skills to effectively respond in the event of an overdose situation.

By the end of the training, you'll:
- Understand the various elements of an opioid overdose.
- Know the risk factors associated with opioid overdose.
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose.
- Learn to respond to an opioid overdose using intranasal naloxone.

Today, we honor the impact of Dr. Ruth Fox. Dr. Ruth Fox pioneered the field of addiction medicine in the 1950's, which was a time when societal norms prohibited women from participating and contributing to esteemed fields, such as medicine.

Dr. Ruth Fox surpassed barriers in addiction research, advocacy, and innovation. She became the first medical director of The National Council on Alcoholism, founder and first president of the American Medical Society on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependencies, was a renowned psychoanalyst, and a prolific author.

With October beginning, we encourage you to mark your calendars for Holiday Assistance Sign Up Days! We are three weeks away!

Our program is designed in two parts - food assistance and toy assistance for children ages 0-12. If you have any questions, you can call the office (593-2640) for more information during our open hours, Tues-Fri, 9:30-2:30.
