Jones Memorial Hospital, located in beautiful southwestern New York State, is a 49-bed acute care facility serving all of Allegany County, as well as western Steuben County and northern Potter County, PA. The Jones Memorial Medical Practices is a network of practices that involves primary care and specialties including orthopaedics, pediatrics, internal medicine, family practice, and obstetrical and gynecological care. Jones Memorial also has a walk-in clinic for non-emergency situations including sprains, strains, flu symptoms, headaches, earaches, diarrhea, minor burns, coughs and colds, and urinary tract infections. JMH provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient services, including medical imaging, rehabilitation services, laboratory, obstetrical and surgical services. Jones Memorial is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and has been recognized by IPRO, the New York State Medicare Quality Improvement Organization. This award was given to JMH for demonstrating their commitment to improving health care services in the state. JMH is committed to continuously raising quality and safety to higher levels.

Jones Memorial Hospital would like to offer best wishes and happy retirement to Dr. Zahi Kassas and Monica Acomb, PNP. Dr. Kassas will continue in a limited capacity serving in the nursery and caring for inpatient pediatric patients as well as complex pediatric patients.

Dr. Kassas and Monica have served the community together, caring for the children of hundreds of families in this region for over 25 years. We are grateful for their commitment to JMH and this community.

This week, our associate spotlight shines on Michelle Johnston, Receptionist in our Medical Imaging department. Michelle has been with JMH for the past 3.5 years and has also worked in the ED.

"Michele Johnston was selected for the Medical Imaging employee spotlight due to her commitment to not only our patients, but her past and present co-workers. Michele is always looking for ways to help develop more efficient processes, ways to improve patient care and the workflow for techs. On several occasions Michele has gone above and beyond for our patients, reassuring and calming them during difficult times. She has a way of making people smile. Recently, Michele has helped cover open shifts in her previous department on weekends. We are lucky to have her here on the JMH team!" - Jen Frungillo, Director of Medical Imaging

What is your favorite part of working at Jones Memorial?
Being able to really give back to my home community and making the patients have the best experience they can on their health journey.

What is the most interesting project you've worked on?
Creating a help manual for our department that was easy to use, understand and find information.

After graduating from college, I spent the beginning part of my life living in London for ten years.
