At this time, Jones Memorial Hospital can confirm that we have in our care, a male patient who presented in the ED and sustained a self-inflicted gun shot wound. He is currently being treated by our team. At no time did this individual threaten staff or any other patients in the building or on the premises. Chief Tim O’Grady of the Wellsville Police Department and his team will continue this ongoing investigation but have confirmed that this was an isolated incident. There is no threat to the general public. We will have no further information at this time.

Jones Memorial Hospital joined Highland Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center today for the annual Softball Tournament! Residents enjoyed a great game and staff and associates had a great time.

The Jones Memorial Hospital Dr. F Clifton Miller Birthing Center is grateful to the ladies of the NYS Beta Epsilon Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International for putting together a wonderful Books for Babies program. This program, originally started by the Alpha Sigma chapter in 2005, helps to lay a foundation for early literacy for our patients and their families and includes a small board book, and a pamphlet with tips for early reading with your baby.

This week, our associate spotlight shines on Christy Hart, Physical Therapist in our rehab department. Christy has been with the Jones for 29 years!

What is your favorite part of working at Jones Memorial?
The people, getting to know people. Helping People, my co-workers, feeling like I am contributing to a team.

What inspired you to pursue working in healthcare? What are you most proud of?
After Lifeguarding/teaching swimming lessons and water exercises I realized I wanted to work with people of all ages. Working as a PT has allowed me to do that. I am most proud of raising our four children while working in my hometown.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Love what you do and do what you love.

Do you have a favorite song, playlist or podcast to get you through your day? What is it?
I don't really listen to anything during the day, but 80's music or True Crime podcasts in the car when traveling.

What is your favorite hobby?
Spending time with my husband and family.

What's a book, movie or TV show you would recommend to everyone?
Book- We Were the Lucky Ones

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
I wish I had a magic wand to take away people's pain

Did you know? 🤔 Jones Memorial Hospital offers a financial assistance program for patients who are unable to pay their medical bills. Our caring Patient Financial Counselors, Jaime Gleason and Nicole Wulf have helped over 1700 patients in 2024 alone get approved for Medicaid and other financial assistance programs. 💸

Our team helps to identify at risk patients and does outreach to ensure no one goes without coverage - including those who are aging out of their parents insurance, maternity patients covered under parental insurance plans that don't cover newborn children, and Medicaid patients who are now up for recertification. As a reminder, automatic Medicaid recertifications have now expired.
