This week, our associate spotlight shines on Angel Veley, Supply Cart Aide - Purchasing for the past 10 months.

“Angel joined Jones Memorial in August 2024. Coming from the manufacturing-sector, Angel brought with her much experience in both inventory and warehouse management. Her experience, as well as her sense of urgency (she’s always hustling), have been great assets to our department, and the hospital. Angel also has a great sense-of-humor and likes to laugh. Given the serious nature of what goes on in a hospital most days, the opportunity to laugh is always welcome. Angel does a great job of keeping day-to-day activities “light,” while making sure the hospital departments get what they need.” - Mark Brophy, Director of Materials Management

JMH representatives and volunteers offered a free health screening yesterday during the public forum for older adults at the Alfred State Wellsville campus. Allegany County residents discussed ways to communicate better within the region, needed programs and took part in the wellness fair and other health activities, including chair yoga. Multiple vendors were on hand to discuss programs and resources offered by the county.

Getting to work with coworkers that have become lifelong friends and the opportunity to serve our community together.

The opportunity to serve my community. Im proud of my coworkers and our team.

Try not to get so busy making a living, you forget to live life.

Camping, riding our sxs, spending time with my kids, running and exploring new wineries with Melissa.

Please join us in celebrating Dr. Andres Rubert, who is officially transitioning into retirement after over a decade of dedicated service at our hospital—and a remarkable career serving this community for many years. (Dr. Rubert will continue to be available on a per diem basis after August to ensure continuous patient coverage.)

Dr. Rubert has been a pillar of compassionate, expert care in OB/GYN, guiding countless families through some of life’s most meaningful moments. His calm presence, deep knowledge, and heartfelt commitment have left an indelible mark on both his patients and colleagues.

This week, our associate spotlight shines on Miriam Chalom, PharmD. Miriam has been with the Jones for 3 years.

One of my favorite qualities in Miriam is the extra time and attention she spends talking with patients to address medication barriers and concerns. What is your favorite part of working at Jones Memorial?
The people. I find everyone to be compassionate and helpful.

Always listen to what people say. Don't ever discount someone's thoughts and opinions.

I love 1990's, early 2000's music. I often listen to grunge/pop.

What is your favorite hobby?
I like to read murder mystery books and play with my dogs.

Landman and The Handmaid's Tale

What's your dream vacation destination?
Everywhere! I love to explore and see different cultures. I'd like my next trip to be Italy.

I'd love to fly. I want to travel and flying seems like it would help me see the world.
