RiverWest Senior Living offers luxurious Independent Living accommodations. Our 2 bed, 1 bath apartment is designed for residents seeking a blend of independence and security. With 24-hour staff presence, residents can enjoy the freedom of their apartment while knowing assistance is always nearby. The monthly rent of $2150.00 covers utilities including water, sewer, and garbage disposal. This apartment's package also includes one hour of housekeeping weekly, trash pickup service, and access to all activities and excursions in the Assisted Living building. Residents have the flexibility to join meal plans at a modest additional cost. An emergency response system is fitted in each apartment. Call 509-662-2797 to book a viewing.

February, 2026 Resident Spotlight

Betty Jane “BJ” Schmidt
A little bit about BJ!
Bj has lived at RiverWest Senior Living since 2017 and is one of the kindest people you would ever hope to meet.
She was born in 1925, and raised in West Seattle, Wa. She was the baby of the family, with her siblings 10 and 13 years older than her.
She is passionate about politics and fondly recalls a story about being in first grade and making posters for then Presidential Candidate, Al Smith. He lost the race to Franklin D Roosevelt and she was so disappointed!
She also remembers her high school class shrinking by 100 students due to the draft.

At the age of 17, BJ gave her life over to Jesus and has been walking with the Lord ever since.
She married her late Husband, Don, in 1945 and had 3 children. And in 1947, they moved to Wenatchee, where they owned Smitty’s Refrigeration for many years. BJ raised the kids and did the company books.
They were married for 30 beautiful years before Alzheimer’s required him to move into a specialty hospital and later claimed his life in 1996.
BJ is so wonderful and we are grateful she chose RiverWest all those years ago.

Kenia Lara has been a valued member of our team for the past four years, serving as a dedicated Medication Technician. She is known for her reliability, compassion, and strong commitment to resident care. Kenia’s favorite part of her job is listening to the residents’ stories and being someone they can depend on each day. She truly values the relationships she builds and the trust she earns.
Supervisors describe Kenia as a team player who consistently goes above and beyond to support both residents and her coworkers. Her positive attitude and willingness to help make her an important part of our community.
Outside of work, Kenia enjoys going to church, spending time with her family, and of course, a good cup of coffee. We are so happy to have her on our team!

We want to take a moment and say thank you to all the veterans that have served our great nation!
