Well a lot has happened since I lasted posted on my business page ~ as if anyone didn’t know but we are in the midst of a global pandemic and I’d like to take this time to address my Loyal Clients and Supports :
I know you are wondering if you can keep your June appointments. As of now future appointments for June are cancelled and July are pending due to Chelan Co still being declared in phase 1 after Governor Inslee’s announcement on 5/29.
Probably unbeknownst to you there is a lot of debate on Massage therapy which phase we are in - the DOH/Governor has deemed us to be part of phase 3. However I am hopefully we can enter phase 2 - I am making changes and taking the necessary precautions in order to be able to open once given the green light.
I’ve contacted my liability insurance and even if you sign “a waiver” they will not cover me should I get caught operating at this time.
If I’m caught operating under these current restrictions the risk are: losing both my business license as well as my massage therapy license; on top of a potential fine up to $10,000/ day I am found in operation.
I’ve heard other therapist are open and working but that is on them and/or their employer. For me or any other therapist to diagnose, &/or say that no prescription is needed or even that your treatment is deemed medically necessary is out of scope of practice to declare. That is the law and has been such before Covid19.
On the off chance we have to extend the date and go longer than June please be patient and please be kind. It’s been a long difficult time for everyone - I miss you and I miss being able to work; regardless of my opinion of the rules and laws I am following them. I chose to work for years to come not just the here and now.
As soon as massage is deemed “open” trust that I will contact to you right away to book out/confirm appointments!
I am hopeful for change and opening in late June or early July but until you hear from me all June appointments are cancelled & July’s are pending.
With grace, understanding and kindness I wait for you, please wait for me.
Kindly,
Kyra
