HAPPY WINTER SOLSTICE ✨🌙

Today is the shortest day of the year! This is your permission slip to stop pushing and start restoring.

And yes… rest is a bone-health strategy. Not a lazy-person hobby.

Here’s why rest + recovery matter for strong bones:
When you rest, your body can actually do the rebuilding work.

Bone is living tissue. It responds to stress (good movement + resistance) by remodeling… but the magic happens after, when you recover.

Rest supports:
✨Hormone balance (hello cortisol). Chronic stress can mess with the hormones that protect bone.

✨Better sleep, which supports growth and repair processes your body runs at night like a divine construction crew.

✨Less inflammation, which helps your body focus on rebuilding instead of constantly putting out fires.

’Tis the Season to Go Slow (But Keep Those Bones Boss-Level Strong) 🎄✨

We’re taking a little winter breather and will be CLOSED from December 24 through January 4.
Yes, we’re resting. No, your wellness doesn’t have to go on the naughty list while we’re gone. 😉

Here are a few simple, effective ways to keep your bones strong and your body feeling good while we’re all enjoying the holiday pause:

1) Keep it weight-bearing (your skeleton loves this)
Walk daily (even 10–20 minutes counts). Stairs give major bonus points.

2) Do 5 minutes of “strength snacks”
Pick 2–3 moves and do one quick round:
Squats • Wall sits • Calf raises • Glute bridges • Push-ups (wall or counter works)
Little reps add up. Consistency beats intensity right now.

3) Protein + minerals = holiday armor
Aim for protein at each meal (eggs, fish, Greek yogurt, meat, beans if that’s your lane).
And don’t ghost calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D—your bones are literally a mineral bank.

4) Sun + sleep = your recovery stack
Morning daylight helps your hormones and circadian rhythm.
Sleep is when your body repairs. Protect it like it’s your personal treasure.

5) Hydrate like an adult
Coffee and wine don’t count. (I don’t make the rules. Biology does.)

6) Stretch + breathe to stay out of “holiday stress shoulders”
2 minutes of slow breathing + gentle mobility can keep you from feeling like a tense candy cane.

Feeling drained… again?

You’re not “lazy” — your body is trying to tell you something.

Before you reach for that 3rd coffee, try this energy reset checklist:

🔹 Hydrate first
Even mild dehydration can tank your energy. Start with a big glass of water + pinch of sea salt or electrolytes.

🔹 Add protein, not just sugar
Energy crashes often come from carb-only snacks. Pair your fruit or crackers with protein (eggs, Greek yogurt, nuts, fish, etc.).

🔹 Move your body (gently counts)
A 5–10 minute walk, stretching, or light movement can wake up circulation and your nervous system way better than doom-scrolling.

🔹 Get light in your eyes
Step outside for a few minutes. Natural light helps reset your internal clock and can boost mood + energy.

🔹 Strengthen your foundation
