Growing up the youngest of seven children, Mo was always trying to catch up to her siblings. As avid runner and cyclist, she turned to Pilates after an injury in 2008. Moira's fitness training began with STOTT Pilates in MAT, Reformer, & Injuries/Special Precautions as well as other Pilates workshops. She also "learned the ropes" of TRX for both group and personal training and is Barre, Spinning, KickboxingForLife and RIPPED certified. She carries AFAA Group Exercise and Personal Training certifications & Precision Nutrition Coach certification. Moira works individually to help people come out of injuries strong and/or stay fit and keep moving! Her background in sales gives her the experience to connect with all types of people. She is a busy Mom to four children, which allows for the compassion and understanding to encourage and support clients the right way. Mo rides in the PanMass Challenge every year, volunteered in many school events, including managing two auctions, raising money for the sidewalk committee for five years, & organized a children's camp for four summers. Moira's slogan is "Keep the Peace Within You" and she has her own website, www.moirasfitness.com… where she offers Beautycounter safer skincare & Scout and Cellar clean crafted wine! Mo happily shares good ideas, including her favorite recipes! When she's not teaching fitness, talking about wellness, or coming up with new exercise moves…you can catch her walking her dog, Rudi, at Appleton Farms or Singing Beach. She loves people, parties, and a tall Starbucks coffee.

TGIF…. How’s your January? ❄️  I feel as though I go from hot coffee, to hot tea, to hot cocoa to stay warm and cozy during these long, gray winter days!  The “Bostonian” Dunkin’ Donuts video this past week was a little pick me up....and of course the sunsets are beautiful 🌅and we have the Patriots game to look forward to! 🏈 In between coaching clients & teaching pilates, I’ve been working on two real estate deals, and renewing my Personal Training and CPR certificate.
 
As you know, I truly believe that health & wellness is the most important thing in our lives....and this past year I have been creating digital, online programs to help as many people as I can.  I have written a ten-week “GETMOFIT” Health Coaching program, a four chapter “TechNeck Toolkit” to fix tightness in neck & shoulders, a Summer & Protein Nutrition Guides and coming soon ~ “Menopause Meltdown” a core video series.... Using my fifteen years of fitness training experience, my programs are designed for 50+ audience, and I’m excited to introduce to you my GETMOFIT E-Book, “Fearless Reinvention: Stories of Resilience to Redefine Aging with Strength, Energy & Transformation! Is it “Six or Seven?!” When I think back to where I was in 2016, I remember taking a chance and redesigning a home loft into a pilates studio, “Moira’s Fitness.” After working at multiple fitness studios…I created this space to make my life easier while raising four children and managing busy schedules…but what I quickly realized is that my clients enriched my life for the better. Here’s to many more hours of strengthening, stretching, & building a community of human connection. namaste….and, in the words of my mom, (and what became my slogan;))

As we enter a new year, I want to simplify something that often feels overwhelming....

Lasting health doesn’t come from extremes.

Twelve Days of Fitness #10….Slow Down Eating! And, of course, the real holiday week question is, “Can you gain weight from eating too much in one weekend?”;)

The answer is, “no.”

But...

Eating quickly leads to overeating and bloating.

✨ Today’s Quick Tip:

Put your fork down between bites and chew slowly.
