Phoebe Berks Hosts Pre-Walk for Alzheimer's Event

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s the world’s largest event to fight Alzheimer’s will take place in Berks County on Saturday, October 18. As part of the lead-up to this important event, Phoebe Berks held a special pre-walk on Thursday, September 25.

Due to inclement weather, the walk was moved indoors, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of our residents and employees who showed up with enthusiasm and energy. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the residents and staff who participated in this meaningful event.

Your dedication and support truly made it a wonderful occasion, and we are deeply grateful for all the donations collected in advance of the October 18 walk.

A truly inspiring event! Residents and some employees showcased their incredible talent at the recent Meet the Artist Arts & Crafts Show. The displays were nothing short of wonderful—each piece a reflection of the creativity and passion within the Phoebe Berks community. It's amazing to see just how many artistic souls call Phoebe Berks home!

Summer fun at the Lehigh Valley Zoo! Phoebe Berks Health Care Center residents had a wonderful day checking out all the animals at the zoo, including penguins, lizards, and red pandas!

Phoebe Berks residents had a lovely visit to Stoudtburg Village Shops, which features unique and beautiful German Architecture, antiques, gifts, collectibles, and other kinds of shops. Residents also had a delicious meal at a bar and grill restaurant!

We are super excited to announce that Phoebe Berks received its electric car yesterday! The new electric car will shuttle residents from all across the Phoebe Berks campus, making attending events in different areas of the campus much safer and more accessible for everyone!

At Phoebe Berks. This afternoon, toes were tappin' and hands were clappin' as the Health Care Center, Village Commons, and Village Gardens had the pleasure of seeing the Al Shade Country Show featuring Al Shade, Debbie Ann and Faron Shade. At 97 years old, Al is "the oldest active country performer in the US." The concert included selections from Al's many recordings, covers of Loretta Lynn, Connie Smith, and Kenny Rogers, and originals by Al and Faron Shade.
