It’s mid-February, a.k.a. the "Championship Game" of germ season. If you want to keep your team off the sidelines, here is your Defensive Playbook:

1ļøāƒ£ Hydration Station: Keep those water bottles filled. Hydrated mucous membranes are better at trapping germs! šŸ’§
2ļøāƒ£ Sleep is a Superpower: School-aged kids need 9–12 hours. A rested body is a fortress. šŸ’¤
3ļøāƒ£ Hand Hygiene: The GOAT of prevention. Teach them to scrub like they're prepping for surgery. 🧼

Coach’s Note: Is your little athlete up to date on their physical and vaccinations? Check your portal or give us a shout! šŸ“£

The Myth: If a child’s fever gets too high, it will hurt their brain.

The Truth: Fevers caused by infection (like a cold or flu) are actually the body’s way of fighting back! The brain has an internal thermostat that keeps a standard fever from getting too high to cause damage.

The Real Goal: We treat fevers to make your child comfortable, not just to lower the number on the screen. Focus on how they are acting—if they are hydrated and playing, they are likely okay!

🚩 When to call us: If the fever is over 100.4°F in an infant under 3 months, or if a child of any age is lethargic or having trouble breathing.

Did your health insurance change for 2026?

If you’ve switched plans, we recommend checking these three things:

1ļøāƒ£ The Effective Date: Is your plan active yet?
2ļøāƒ£ The Co-pay: Has your office visit fee changed?
3ļøāƒ£ The Network: Are we still your 'In-Network' provider? (Hint: We likely are, but it’s always good to check!)

We’re here to help you navigate the 'boring stuff' so your little ones stay healthy and happy. šŸ‘¶āœØ

šŸ¦ Did you know that yogurt is a great source of probiotics for gut health and calcium for growing bones?

While we love a trip to the local yogurt shop, you can make a 'doctor-approved' version at home by blending frozen fruit with plain Greek yogurt. It's a sweet treat without the sugar crash! šŸ“šŸŒ€

Too much screen time lately? šŸ“ŗ Don’t stress—just use the 20-20-20 Rule!

Every 20 minutes, have your child look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

It’s a simple 'brain break' that prevents eye strain and headaches during these cold indoor days. Give it a try today! šŸ‘€āœØ

Screen Time After the Holidays — Healthy limits for the new year

The holidays can mean extra screen time. Reset with clear, age-appropriate limits: set daily caps, create screen-free zones (meals, bedrooms), plan tech-free family activities, and co-view to make screen time more meaningful. Keep a calming, consistent bedtime routine and swap late-night screens for reading or quiet play. Questions or need personalized advice? We’re here to help.
