Engaging the next generation of health care leaders is a priority for BayCare Hospital Wesley Chapel. We recently hosted an ambitious group of Pasco County high school students interested in careers in health care. The students met with workforce development specialists where they had an opportunity to ask questions specific to their areas of interest, before taking a guided tour of the hospital to experience a clinical environment firsthand.

It was a pleasure to welcome these young people into our hospital. We wish them the best of luck as they pursue their career goals.

Our Connect the Docs mixer is a twice-a-year event that brings together medical staff and physicians of many specialties, from both the hospital and the community, to create a networking environment that serves the health care needs of Wesley Chapel.

More than 30,000 people participated in this year's event, including Nancy Ortiz, a breast cancer survivor and volunteer at BayCare Hospital Wesley Chapel. Nancy's heartwarming appreciation for this year's event was captured in this clip from Fox 13.

As the leading provider of behavioral health care services in West Central Florida, BayCare recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for Pasco County’s first behavioral health Central Receiving Facility (CRF). The more than $2 million project is an expansion of BayCare’s current Interventional Stabilization Unit located on the BayCare Behavioral Health Institute campus in New Port Richey. Opening next summer, the CRF will provide crisis intervention, assessment and referral services for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises.
