Every 40 seconds, someone in the U.S. has a stroke. Your readiness to spot the stroke warning signs and call 911 could save a life or make the difference between a full recovery and long-term disability. The faster stroke is treated, the more likely the patient is to recover.

In fact, stroke patients who are treated with the clot-busting drug IV r-tPA Alteplase within 90 minutes of their first symptoms were almost three times more likely to recover with little or no disability.
In some cases, a procedure to remove the clot causing the stroke is also recommended. Nintey-one percent of stroke patients who were treated with a stent retriever within 150 minutes of first symptoms recovered with little or no disability.

The thing to remember is that stroke is largely treatable. It’s a matter of getting the right treatment, right away.

Pioneer Neuro Health is so excited to welcome Brandy Centers, APRN to our team. Brandy completed both her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing at Indiana University School of Nursing. She has been a board-certified nurse practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners since 2015.

Brandy is dedicated to providing evidence-based care to a diverse patient population and a member of the National Headache Foundation.

Dr. Lara Wittine, pictured below, collaborates with ENT to provide Inspire sleep solutions as a treatment option for her patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).

Inspire Therapy is a treatment option for OSA patients who are unable to use CPAP. It is a small device inserted in an outpatient procedure that restores muscle tone to open the airway. The implant is controlled by the patient with the Inspire Sleep Remote and cloud-based adherence monitoring.

Dr. Wittine treats a broad range of sleep disorders at our outpatient neurology clinic in Tampa. She also serves as the Medical Director of AdventHealth Tampa's AASM-accredited Sleep Center.
