The new blood pressure guidelines recommend treating sooner and cutting back on alcohol. We know that hypertension is known for causing heart attacks and stroke. But it also is responsible for a form of dementia, heart failure, and early death. If you haven’t already, time to take it seriously.

The American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology issued their first new guidelines on hypertension since 2017 that suggest men should limit their intake of alcohol to no more than two drinks per day and women should limit to one per day.
