As the Walk for the Alzheimer’s Association comes closer (September 14th) Library Square continues to raise funds for this worthwhile cause. On Monday, we had a special Bingo day where the residents paid $5.00 a card, and then we split the total per game. The residents enjoyed playing for a little higher stakes and also giving back to the Alzheimer’s Association. Thank you to all who attended!

Southeastern Wisconsin is known for its wonderful parks and outdoor events. Library Square residents enjoyed a great night out at the Whitnall Park Beer Garden where they enjoyed some delicious food, along with some wonderful singing and guitar playing by Pat Robinson. As an added plus, we got to witness some fun dog tricks by a blind Samoyed dog who just happened to walk by with his owner. Everyone enjoyed the park, the food, and the all around atmosphere. We can’t wait to go again!

Library Square did a great job fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Association this week with our Cookie and Pie Bake Sale. Residents enjoyed purchasing White Chocolate Macadamia Nut or Double Chocolate cookies, along with either blueberry, peach or cherry pies. Our own Chef Earl baked all the goodies and the residents gobbled them all up! Thank you Earl and Library Square residents.

Library Square celebrated National Ice Cream Day with a Walker and Wheelchair Wash, along with some yummy ice cream! Our wonderful in-house therapy department, Paxxon Therapy, washed the residents wheelchairs and walkers, and then the residents received an ice cream cup of their choice. It was a very hot day, so the wash was still held outdoors, but the residents chose to eat their ice cream inside.

“If you like Pina Colada’s, and getting caught in the rain,” or so the song goes! Library Square had both yesterday when we celebrated National Pina Colada Day with a social and some fun sing-along music. The rain didn’t happen until later, but it didn’t matter, our residents always enjoy getting together and just having a great time!

✨ Flashback Friday! We’re looking back at our July 4th celebration — a day filled with laughter, friendship, and patriotic spirit. Our residents had a blast making tie-dye shirts and loved how they turned out! Thank you to everyone who made it such a fun and memorable day. ❤️🤍💙

Library Square had a delicious and fun time today at our Pancake Breakfast to fundraise for the Alzheimer’s Association. Our Executive Director, Mai, was our pancake maker while the rest of us helped out with serving the juices, coffee, ect.! Library Square is proud to fundraise for the Alzheimer’s Association and with this pancake breakfast alone we raised over $250.00 for such a good cause! Thank you, staff and residents, for being so generous for such a worthwhile organization!

Our warm weather in West Allis had us indoors for our Lemonade Social this past week, but it did not deter us from having a good time! Residents enjoyed lemonade and cookies, while having fun with a little trivia on the side. The residents at Library Square always have an assortment of activities to choose from during the day and early evening. Come visit us to see for yourself how much fun we have at Library Square!

How can a monthly Birthday Bash at Library Square get any better? When you have Alderperson Chad Halverson come and do the Karaoke with the residents, that’s how! Chad has been the Alderperson for District 2 in West Allis since 2024 and serves the part of the city where Library Square is located. The residents had a great time singing along with the music that Chad provided, and we can’t wait to have him come back and join us again! Thanks again Chad for all you do for our great city of West Allis.
