I was thinking we have so many unused buildings like old Walmarts and old Menards. It's too bad they couldn't change them into homes for the homeless. The homeless would then have to do community service to live there and have some kind of schooling as well whether it be a trade or what not. You could have them be supervised like clean up crews, painting crews, maintenance crews etc perhaps creating positions that could give them work experience, new knowledge and even management skills. It'd be a nice way to build community and house the homeless. Maybe it would be a program that would spread to the nation and there wouldn't be any more homeless people. Plus the businesses that donated the buildings would have a nice fat tax cut to sweeten the deal for them.
