Back in Asheville! Back in Action! Back in Business!
It’s been a long 2+ years, but I’m settling back into Asheville. I’ve got mucho updates in regards to my offerings and the quality of my service… As you may know, I’ve been away practicing massage at Old Edwards Inn and Spa; a very busy, high volume, upscale spa in Highlands, NC. During this time, and a bit prior, I’ve been learning structural bodywork from a mentor, in a 1 on 1 setting. Yet perhaps the most impactful upgrade has been this past year, studying acupuncture at Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine.
I’ve been setting my foundation of a Chinese Medical perspective. This has been fun and fascinating to incorporate into my work. Aside from diving deeper into learning the various systems, energetics, and a bit of Tui Na, I’ve been developing a new level of personal cultivation through the Taiji practice that I’ve been learning through the curriculum. This has heightened my sense of personal awareness, energetic sensitivity, and I also feel much more confident working with the energies of clients on my table.
If you are dealing with structural/postural issues and/or pain let me tell you about the structural bodywork I’ve been learning over the past 3 years.. the original reason I’ve decided to pursue bodywork is due to the incredible results that I’ve received nearly a decade ago by a Structural Integration therapist, who practices Dr Ida Rolf’s method of Structural Integration; a method that reorganizes layers of fascia for deep, long lasting relief. Seriously changed my life! So, I’ve been exchanging regular trades with this same therapist for over 3 years now. I’ve learned quite a bit about structural bodywork, have gained much confidence, and I’ve received amazing feedback from dozens of clients through this particular modality (tennis elbow, low back pain, neck pain, plantar fasciitis, overworked hands to name a few). I’ve also been learning Orthopedic Assessment in acupuncture school if you have orthopedic injuries that need diagnosis.
Both of these advancements have greatly improved my perspective and ability to provide the relaxation based and deep tissue treatments that most people tend to think of when it comes to massage; not to mention that I’ve been practicing for over 5 years now!
I’m currently in the process of deciding on an office space to rent. I am expecting to have the location locked in by June. Stay tuned for more updates as they will soon come. In the meantime, I am offering house calls around the Asheville area. Let me know if you’re interested in any of this and we’ll schedule a session. I love blending various aspects of these modalities into a treatment that fits each client. I’m very excited to share my new skills! Oh and cups! I do cupping too! 😃
