Postpartum mental health is about more than the “baby blues.”

Some mothers may experience conditions such as postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, or postpartum psychosis after giving birth.

These experiences are real, more common than many realize, and deserve understanding.

During Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re helping break the stigma by creating space for honest conversations about maternal mental health, postpartum recovery, and the support mothers need to thrive.

The more we understand postpartum mental health, the better equipped we are to support mothers through every stage of their journey. 🤍

Maternal mental health is declining, and too many mothers are suffering in silence.

Rates of postpartum depression, anxiety, and emotional distress continue to rise, yet stigma and fear of judgment often stop mothers from reaching out for support.

Motherhood can be beautiful, but it can also be overwhelming and emotionally exhausting, and those experiences deserve compassion, not shame.

Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month helps create space for honest conversations, break stigma surrounding postpartum mental health, and remind mothers that they do not have to navigate these challenges alone.

At Iama Center, we believe every mother deserves support, care, and access to mental health resources throughout their healing journey 🤍

What is TBRI?
—
We’re highlighting TBRI® (Trust-Based Relational Intervention), a trauma-informed approach that focuses on healing through connection, trust, and support.

TBRI is often used with children and families who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect.

Instead of focusing only on behavior, it encourages caregivers and communities to look deeper at unmet needs, stress responses, and the importance of emotional safety.

Mental Health Awareness Month reminds us that support starts with understanding and safety when recognize unhealthy patterns 🤍

Today, we honored all who served and sacrificed for our freedom.

We held deep gratitude for every veteran, while especially recognizing the Black veterans whose courage, resilience, and service have too often gone unseen or under-acknowledged in history.

🕊️ We hope you took a moment today to reflect, remember, and extend compassion to those we’ve lost, and to those still carrying the weight of service.

You can love God AND seek help.

Faith and mental health are not opposites.

Sometimes healing looks like prayer.
Sometimes it looks like boundaries.
Sometimes it looks like finally asking for help.

Needing support does not make your faith weak.

What’s something you think faith communities should discuss more openly about mental health?

Mental health impacts every part of our lives, yet many people still struggle in silence.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, Iama Center is committed to continuing conversations around emotional wellness, trauma, stress, anxiety, healing, and access to mental health support.

We believe mental health care should be compassionate, culturally responsive, and accessible for individuals, families, and communities.

Whether you are learning to set boundaries, process life transitions, navigate grief, or simply take better care of yourself emotionally, your mental health deserves attention and support.

💚 Healing starts with awareness, conversation, and community.

💬 What is one way you are prioritizing your mental health this month?

Children have mental health needs too, and early support matters. 💚

During Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re raising awareness about the importance of supporting children’s emotional well-being both at home and in our communities.

From anxiety and stress to grief, behavioral challenges, and life transitions, children deserve safe spaces where they feel seen, heard, and supported.

At Iama Center, we believe mental health conversations should start early and be met with compassion, care, and culturally responsive support for both children and families.
