DOES FASCIA STORE EMOTIONS?

Let’s Clear This Up.

Fascia is connective tissue.
It supports your muscles, nerves, and organs, and plays an important role in movement and sensation.

Emotions are processed in the brain.
They’re not physically stored in muscles or fascia.

So why do people sometimes feel emotional during massage or bodywork?

Because therapeutic touch affects the nervous system.
When your body relaxes, breathing slows, and pain decreases, your nervous system can shift into a calmer state.

Sometimes, that sense of safety allows emotions to surface—and that’s completely normal.

It’s not fascia releasing trauma.
It’s your nervous system responding to care, safety, and relief.

At Forrest Wellness Spa, we believe in:

✔ Evidence-based care
✔ Respect for the body and nervous system
✔ Professional, results-driven treatment
✔ A safe space for both physical and emotional wellness

Real care. Real physiology. Real results.

I’ve been doing this for a long time . At Forrest Spa everything I create—and every experience we offer—begins with intention, integrity, and a deep respect for both people and the planet. Our story is not just professional… it is deeply personal to me.

More than 12 years ago, what is now known as our signature wild-crafted body butter did not begin as a business idea. It began as a response to someone I love who was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition.

Suddenly, many conventional skincare products were no longer safe to use. Harsh ingredients, synthetic fragrances, and chemical fillers caused irritation instead of comfort. I felt a deep responsibility to find something gentler—something truly nourishing.

So I began researching, blending, and creating.
Not for profit.
Not for a product line.
But for healing.

That first jar of body butter was made with care, intention, and a commitment to purity. What started as a solution for one person slowly became something much bigger—a philosophy of wellness that I am now honored to share with every guest who walks through our doors.

I have always believed that skincare should be simple, clean, and effective. Your skin does not need dozens of complicated ingredients—it needs the right ones.

That is why our body butter is made with just five food-grade ingredients. Nothing more. Nothing unnecessary.

I carefully select ethically sourced, fair-trade gathered, premium-quality butters known for their ability to deeply moisturize and restore the skin. I also incorporate magnesium oil to help support skin health, soothe the body, and encourage overall balance.

Every ingredient is chosen with intention—so even the most sensitive skin can feel safe, supported, and truly cared for.

One of the parts of this journey that means the most to me is staying connected to where our ingredients come from.

Many of the essential oils we use are sourced right here in Michigan from local farms that grow and distill their oils on-site. This allows me to ensure freshness, potency, and transparency—while also supporting small farmers and sustainable agriculture in our own community.

For me, this has never been just about skincare.
It is about responsibility.
It is about relationships.
It is about honoring the land, the people, and the purpose behind everything we create.

What began as a personal necessity has grown into a mission—
to provide clean, intentional, results-driven wellness for every person we serve.

Thank you for trusting me with your care.

There’s something extra special about the warmth of a hot stone massage… especially when it’s rooted right here in Michigan 🤍

At Forrest, our hot stone massages are thoughtfully designed using Petoskey stones—Michigan’s state stone, formed from ancient fossilized coral and known for its natural beauty and grounding energy. As these smooth, heated stones glide over the body, they help melt away deep muscle tension, improve circulation, and bring you into a state of total relaxation.

But it’s more than just a massage—it’s a connection to place, to history, and to a slower, more intentional kind of care.

And the best part? You’ll leave with your very own Petoskey stone as a keepsake… a little piece of Michigan to carry that calm with you 🤍

Relax. Restore. Reconnect.

What a meaningful evening at the Chamber Ball 🤍

Forrest Wellness Spa was nominated for Emerging Business of the Year. To be recognized in a community I moved to in 2024 is something I don’t take lightly.

Congratulations to Klemers Meats on winning this category — so well deserved. Strong local businesses make strong communities, and I’m honored to be building alongside so many inspiring owners.

When I married my husband and moved here, I left behind the businesses I had built in Harbor Springs. Starting over in a new town was both exciting and humbling. There were moments of uncertainty, but there was never a moment without support.

My husband believed in this vision when it was just an idea. His steady encouragement gave me the courage to plant new roots and begin again.

To every client who has booked a massage, referred a friend, trusted me with your healing, or simply shared a kind word — thank you. You are part of this story. You are part of this growth.

I am deeply grateful for this community and excited for what we are continuing to build here. 🤍

With gratitude,
Bridgette

💛 We are truly honored… 💛

Today we received an email that brought happy tears and a full heart. Forrest Wellness Spa has been nominated for the West Branch Area Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Awards in the category of:

✨ Emerging Business of 2025 ✨

To be recognized in this way means more than we can put into words. What started as a dream to help other wellness and beauty professionals start on the journey to realizing their small buiness goals has grown into something so special, and it’s only possible because of the incredible support from our community, our clients, our friends, and everyone who has believed in us along the way. We champion the spirit of “community over competition” and collaborate with local businesses and their offerings.

This nomination is not just for us—it’s for every person who has walked through our doors, trusted us with their wellness journey, and supported the small business providers ( Spotted Cow Wellness, The Beauty Spot , Vanity Skin Co.) here at ForRest Wellness .

Voting is open now through THIS SUNDAY
If Forrest Wellness Spa has made an impact in your life, we would be so grateful for your vote.

🏆 Winners will be announced at the Chamber Ball on February 28th.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us grow, for supporting local, and for being part of our story. We are so thankful and excited for what’s ahead.

With gratitude,
💛 Forrest Wellness Spa
