As some of you know, the name “Will and I” came from my friend Will and I playing gigs together for assisted-living facilities.
We started doing this right before the pandemic hit. At the time, We were friendly acquaintances who had played together here and there, but since then… Four years later … Will has become one of my best friends.
I now like to refer to him as my “sugar pie honey bunch”.
Suki has known him since the second day we got her. She refers to him as uncle Will 🐾
Will has been a solid foundational piece of my journey through not only playing out, but many other monumental parts of my life throughout the past four years.
In April 2020, my truest friend & my partner Lisa’s only sister… Was diagnosed with brain cancer. Krissy loved music. Live music in particular. So when the world shut down, her only option to hear live music was our living room (during our zoom concerts for assisted-living facilities).
Will was there … when Lisa came down the stairs from our bedroom to embrace Krissy, while we performed “here comes the sun by the Beatles” and they had an unspoken realization about what the lyrics meant to them
Will was there … when our niece Bella passed away and we performed “32 flavors” by ani difranco” to a room full of loved ones who were collectively mourning an incredible 15 year old person. We did not know how to lose her, but we all figured out how to start that process together, somehow, in those moment’s.
Will was there … For Suki’s very first gig
Will was there … when one of the residents at a facility we play at thought that … today was the day they were going to marry Will 👀🤣
Will was there … while multiple residents sat in wonder trying to figure out how I had such a high singing voice for a guy 🤣🤣
Will has now decided to do what most musicians never do…. he got a day job 😩.
What this means for us is that “Will and I” consists now only of Myself and Suki.
We are very happy for you Will and we love you more than our hearts can even contain. Thank you, so much, for being part of our little band, our songs and our hearts.
In honor of Will taking this beautiful journey with us we will be keeping the name “Will & I” indefinitely. Here’s a cute little video to show a tiny piece of the fun we shared.
(P.S. I’ll make sure to let your wife know you won’t be returning 🤣)
