Honoring the Life and Legacy of Doris "Dotti" Cappola Vojak

At Old Colony Hospice, we are deeply saddened to share the passing of Doris "Dotti" Cappola Vojak, a beloved member of our community. Dotti, who passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone she touched. Known for her incredible compassion, dedication, and unwavering service to others, she was a woman whose legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Dotti’s journey began in Quincy, Massachusetts, where she was born on April 21, 1949, to Angelo Ralph Cappola and Valia (Bersani) Cappola. After graduating from North Quincy High School, Dotti pursued her passion for nursing, earning her degree at Laboure College. This marked the start of a remarkable career that spanned decades, during which Dotti became a cornerstone in the field of emergency nursing.

Old Colony Hospice Family Testimonial

We’re honored to share this heartfelt message from a family who entrusted us with their loved one’s care.

“My sister's social worker was wonderful! We could not have hoped for a more loving, gentle and thoughtful person. Her nurse was such a strong advocate for my sister. Both were strong and professional. Thanks to them, I was there at the moment of my sister's death. I really relied on her hospice team and am grateful for them. What a lovely and top-notch team!”

Your Hospice Care Partner

Hospice care is one of the most personal experiences of an individual’s life. Focused on meeting the physical, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of patients with advanced disease, hospice care often involves family and friends who are committed to ensuring that their loved one can live where they are most comfortable and enjoy the highest quality of life possible for their entire life.

For over 38 years, Old Colony Hospice’s team of registered nurses, social workers, counselors, hospice aides, nutritional consultants and volunteers has been providing caring, compassionate hospice care to patients and their loved ones in partnership with the patient’s primary care physician.

A free-standing, non-profit, Medicare certified, accredited health care organization, we are proud to serve 45 cities and towns in Southeastern Massachusetts - see our service area. In order to serve our patients and families in whatever setting they consider home. We also are able to offer physical, occupational and speech therapy through relationships with other care providers.
