Over the last five years, SCC has been expanding support services, strengthening partnerships, and building clearer pathways for students. That work has earned SCC a spot among the Top 200 U.S. Community Colleges named by the Aspen Institute, out of more than 1,000 colleges nationwide.

It's a recognition that reflects years of work to better serve our students, and Dr. Ash put it best:

"We may never be the biggest community college in Iowa, but there is nothing stopping us from being the best."

Congratulations to Whitney Stephens on her recent Daisy Award! Whitney went above and beyond for a young son of a patient at the Hospice House. The young boy was staying all night with his mom, and he lost a tooth. He was very worried the tooth fairy wouldn't find him at The Hospice House, so Whitney snuck into the room after he fell asleep and replaced his tooth with money and a note from the tooth fairy herself! Thank you Whitney for going the extra mile for our patients AND their families.
