The West Essex First Aid Squad is a volunteer non-profit EMS agency providing BLS, transport, and rescue to the towns of West Caldwell, North Caldwell, Caldwell, Fairfield, and Essex Fells, and mutual aid to surrounding towns, and is also a 501(c)(3) registered charitable organization. Founded in 1937, West Essex First Aid Squad, commonly called WEFAS, has been providing FREE EMS for over eight decades, run entirely on donations and the outstanding support of our towns’ residents.
