A Nurturing Mind
After over a decade of working with children, adolescents, and families, A Nurturing Mind founder, Taryn Sharkey realized the importance of nurturing the mind. In a world where everyone talks about “being healthy” there still didn’t seem to be enough discussion about the importance of a nurtured mind. In her experiences, the children that were coming in for therapy needed more, or different, nurturance. Once nurtured, an “ODD, ADHD, Conduct Disorder” child started showing their true selves. Instead of being described as “aggressive, defiant, and impulsive” they were being described as “sweet, happy, and loving”.
Interestingly, it was not just the children that Taryn saw who needed nurturing. The theme of nurturance was seen in all relationships. The couple who struggled to communicate and were on the brink of a break up, when asked: “Do you feel nurtured by your partner?” Almost 100% of the time would say no. The adult who was struggling with depression and feeling alone and isolated. “Do you feel nurtured”. Again, the answer was no. At A Nurturing Mind, our goal is to help you nurture your mind and help you nurture the mind of the ones you love.
Isn’t it time you start nurturing your mind? Because life is easier, with a nurtured mind
