I asked permission to share this photoā¤ļø
Everyone on my Snapchat sees jim daily. Like clockwork at 12pm every single day I hear GUYS GUYS GUYS in the kitchen and I know itās time to get his ornery butt up. He takes his medicine and plays with babe. He follows me around the house and goes into every room I go into. I canāt go to the bathroom with the door completely shut because he has to hear or see me at all times. It drives me insane! But I love this man. He is the house protector. He comforts our residents when they are sick or sad. He will sing and dance until your laughing so hard you could cry. He only wants to be where people are. Iāve found him in Ms. Friedaās room several times just laughing and holding her hand and the other day I finally got a picture of this sweetness. I donāt think he understands how important he is to me, to the staff, to the house, and most of all our residents. He makes us all feel safe. He makes whatever room heās in feel so cozy and warm. I canāt imagine my life without this wild and crazy man in it. Ms. Frieda is so gentle and sweet. Very soft spoken and kind. This rough and rugged man knows just how to comfort her and make her smile in a way that I simply cannot. This moment was precious. And I wanted to share it with you all. My job is hard and sad and sometimes unbearable. But this is what itās all about. Right here. Two people, 20 years apart in age, two totally different walks of life, smiling because at that moment they knew it was all going to be okay. Happy Wednesdayā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
