The Crime Victims' Center of Chester County, Inc.

The Crime Victims' Center of Chester County, Inc. We provide free, confidential, and immediate support to people that have been affected by crime and violence in the Chester County community.

Our agency began in 1973, and since then we have helped thousands of victims in Chester County with immediate and continued help. The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, Inc. (CVC) is a private, community-based, non-profit 501(c)(3) comprehensive victim services agency. CVC is the designated provider of services to sexual violence victims for Chester County, however we serve victims of all ty

pes of crime including sexual abuse, domestic violence, homicide, identity theft, and more. CVC is committed to helping victims understand their rights and advocating, when necessary, to ensure that these rights are met. Our agency does not require you to report your victimization to Law Enforcement, however if you decide reporting is the best option for you, CVC will support you every step of the way. Family members, loved ones and witnesses are also eligible for our services.

Your body knows its limits. When it says no, you have our permission to honor that.

Some signs your body may be saying no:
- your stomach is in knots
- you feel tired or heavy
- you have tightness in your body or your breath
- your heartbeat stutters
- you have difficulty speaking up
- you have a lump in your throat
- you hunch over or make yourself small
- you feel frozen or stuck
- your fingers curl in to make fists
- your jaw clenches

Have you noticed any of these signs?

Take a moment, right now, to ask yourself this question: "Where are my feet?"

Yours could be inside shoes and stepping on a sidewalk. You can feel the firm concrete beneath you.

Or, yours could be bare and balancing on your couch's armrest. You can feel your heels touching the fabric.

This is a quick mindfulness exercise that helps you pause and get grounded in the midst of a busy day.

So, where are your feet? Feel free to comment below!
