Today I want to shine a light on something most of us never think about: microbes.
They’re at the very beginning of the food chain living in our soils, forests, oceans, even deep inside the earth. Everything else, including us, depends on them. But here’s the problem:
👉 Modern farming often destroys microbes with pesticides and herbicides.
👉 Antimicrobials and antibiotics are overused in medicine, food animals, even in clothing and furniture.
👉 Killing these microbes not only hurts our health it also fuels climate change by releasing more greenhouse gases than cars.
A new study published in Frontiers in Public Health shows how antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is both a medical crisis and a climate crisis. Resistant bacteria thrive in hospitals and our environment, making it harder to treat infections. At the same time, destroying healthy microbes reduces the earth’s ability to store carbon.
So what can we do? 🌎✨
✅ Protect your gut health by avoiding foods with hidden antimicrobial chemicals.
✅ Strengthen your immune system naturally eat real, nutrient-rich food, rest well, stay hydrated, and manage stress.
✅ Support organic farming, where microbes enrich the soil and grow healthier, more nutritious plants.
Microbes aren’t our enemies, they're allies. If we nurture them, we nurture ourselves and the planet. 🌍💚
