I knew at the age of 12 that I wanted to be a nurse . I wanted to make a positive difference in someone else’s life . I vowed to be different because being average would not make another’s life better . I knew this because of my own experience living in pain and dependent on another for care after a near death school bus accident. The challenges I lived through as a hospitalized patient for 11 months and thereafter has made me a better healthcare provider today who continues to dedicate her life to helping others manage their pain and have quality of life. I left my home in Quebec Canada at 14 to attend a self supporting school and sanatorium in Dayton Tennessee. I trained to be a nursing assistant and worked in the mornings in the Sanatorium and attended school in the afternoons. As a med-surgical rehabilitation nurse for over 20 years I have learned the value of an integrated team approach to managing pain and regaining physical function. As a wellness nurse practitioner over the last 10 years, I have seen the benefits and life changing successes of regenerative medicine. By listening, fostering an environment that promote respect, and building a trusting partnership with my clients, I can aim to provide excellent patient centered care. Together we can set realistic goals to get you back to living a life to its fullest potential . Life is not simply about being alive, but living well.
