Barclay Friends Older adults will find a spirit of community that embraces the realities of aging Basic Quaker values are reflected in the manner of care we provide.

Barclay Friends, an affiliate of The Kendal Corporation, provides long term nursing care, and post-acute rehabilitation in a state-of-the-art community in the borough of West Chester. Barclay Friends is dedicated to continuing to improve the care of the aging in the wider community. We strive to honor the spirit, humanness, and basic rights of each older person. We respond faithfully to the needs of older people: the need for independence and self determination, the need to feel connected, and the need to have opportunities for learning, fun, reflection, and self expression. The Kendal affiliates' Values and Practices further explains our values and the spirit of community at Barclay Friends. While guided by the values of The Kendal System, each Kendal affiliate maintains an independence that fosters creative thinking.

Thank you to all the team members who volunteered to stay overnight during the upcoming winter storm. Our Story

Barclay Friends, an affiliate of The Kendal Corporation, provides long term nursing care, and post-acute rehabilitation in a state-of-the-art community. Settled in the borough of West Chester. Barclay Friends is dedicated to continuing to improve the care of the aging in the wider community. Basic Quaker values are reflected in the manner of care we provide. We strive to honor the spirit, humanness, and basic rights of each older person. We respond faithfully to the needs of older people: the need for independence and self determination, the need to feel connected, and the need to have opportunities for learning, fun, reflection, and self expression. The Kendal affiliates' Values and Practices further explains our values and the spirit of community at Barclay Friends. While guided by the values of The Kendal System, each Kendal affiliate maintains an independence that fosters creative thinking.

We have recently begun construction on an exciting new project. Named Preston, after famous Quaker activist and physician Ann Preston, our new building will be home to 60 new residents.
