This past weekend, Dr. DeStafeno and members of the CCEC team attended the annual ASCRS/ASOA Conference in Washington, D.C.

Dr. DeStafeno participated as a consultant, contributing to discussions on advancing the cataract surgical experience and the development of next-generation intraocular lenses designed to provide a fuller range of vision in collaboration with Johnson & Johnson and Bausch + Lomb. He also took part in a charitable event supporting Foundation Hearts ‘n’ Hugs, an organization dedicated to bringing comfort to kids facing medical emergencies, illness, and foster care situations.

Team members from our clinical, surgical, and patient access departments attended sessions specific to their roles, learning new skills and insights to bring back and share with the rest of the CCEC team.

Today, we’re celebrating our fantastic optometrists and the dedication they show to their patients every day. From updating prescriptions to diagnosing and managing complex eye conditions, they work tirelessly to help everyone see their best and maintain healthy eyes.

We’re also grateful for the many optometrists in our community who share the same commitment to high-quality eye care. Thank you for all that you do for your patients and for helping keep our community seeing clearly!

Every year, the CCEC staff surprises our doctors with gifts at our annual holiday party. This year, the staff decided to do something a little different and surprised the doctors by donating money they raised themselves to the Sarcoma Alliance.

As many already know, our very own Dr. Ward was diagnosed late last year with sarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer, and spent the early part of this year courageously battling the disease. This donation was made in his honor to show our support and gratitude for his strength, while also helping others who are facing the same fight.
