Your hip pain isn’t just a hip problem...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Runners tend to push through hip tightness, assuming it’ll loosen up after the first mile.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes it does.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But if you’re dealing with hip pain that keeps coming back on long runs, the day after, or just going up the stairs — that’s your body telling you something isn’t working right.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hip dysfunction in runners usually comes down to one of two things: the hip joint itself isn’t moving well, or the surrounding muscles are compensating for weakness or restriction somewhere else in the chain.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Either way, just stretching it out isn’t going to fix it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At , I look at the whole picture:
- How is your hip moving
- What your pelvis and lower back are doing
- Where the breakdown is actually happening
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
From there, I can address the root cause instead of just managing symptoms.
