Non-stop light rain didn’t stop the runners today — rain or shine, the 5K must go on! Proud to be a Heat Wave Sponsor for the Women’s Club of Cayce Hot Flash 5K.

Big congratulations to Caleb, Top Male, and Jessica, Top Female — both winners of a 60-minute Sports Massage!

The rainy run through Timmerman Trail brought out an amazing crowd, and it was great seeing so many from my Columbia Running Club family, including several runners who double dipped and headed off to complete another race after this one.

I didn’t run this year, but I was happy to be there supporting the event, cheering everyone on, and connecting with so many dedicated runners. Despite the weather, the energy and determination were strong from start to finish.

Great job everyone! I didn’t take a ton of pictures, but I did manage to grab a few along the way.

Consistency beats perfection every time.

You don’t have to spend hours in the gym every day to improve your health and feel better in your body. A great place to start is by setting a realistic weekly movement goal. Maybe that means 3 workouts this week, adding daily walks, stretching more often, or making time for recovery sessions.

As your strength, energy, and confidence grow, you can build from there. The key is having a plan and sticking with it long enough to create healthy habits that last.

Movement, recovery, hydration, and proper muscle care all work together. Take care of your body now so it can continue taking care of you later.

Instead of just saying “drink more water,” start thinking about hydration as part of your movement and recovery plan.

Water helps keep your muscles pliable, your joints moving smoothly, and your tissues functioning the way they should. But hydration isn’t just about water alone—electrolytes like sodium, potassium, and magnesium play a key role in muscle contractions, nerve signaling, and preventing cramping.

When you’re dehydrated or low on electrolytes, your body feels it—tightness, fatigue, slower recovery, and decreased performance. Staying properly hydrated helps your body move easier, respond better to training, and get more out of your massage and recovery work.
