On his way to work at the Library of Congress, Donnie Branham never expected his life to change in an instant.

After being hit by a truck, Donnie went missing for days — his family searching for answers — before he was finally found in the hospital with a traumatic brain injury.

What followed was a long road of recovery, uncertainty, and rebuilding.

Today, Donnie has found something powerful on the other side of that journey — connection. 💛

At the Babcock Center’s Phoenix Center, he spends his days socializing, building friendships, and being part of a community that supports and uplifts him.

Because healing isn’t just physical — it’s about belonging.

Donnie’s story is a reminder that even after life’s most unexpected moments, there is still joy, still purpose, and still a place to call your own.

Belated birthday shoutout to our President & CEO, Thoyd Warren! 🎉

We celebrated with the “anything but a birthday balloon” trend… and let’s just say the creativity did not disappoint.

We’re grateful for Thoyd’s leadership, his steady support of our mission, and his willingness to be a great sport when we turn the office into a balloon circus. Thanks for everything you do for Babcock Center and the people we serve.

Hope it was a fantastic birthday! 🎈

When Veronica Haynes was just 10 years old, she was hit by a car — a moment that would change the course of her life.

Recovery wasn’t easy, but she wasn’t alone. Her grandmother stood beside her every step of the way, supporting her through the long rehabilitation journey and helping her keep moving forward. 💛

Today, Veronica is a Documentation Specialist at the Babcock Center, where she has been making a difference for nearly 10 years. Her story is one of perseverance, family support, and finding purpose through lived experience.

Veronica’s journey reminds us that healing takes strength — and that the people who believe in us can make all the difference.

This is another powerful story in our My Brain, My Story campaign.

Watch Veronica’s story and help us celebrate the resilience behind it.

A fall down the stairs at six years old changed Khalid Robinson’s life forever.

The accident caused a traumatic brain injury and a hematoma — something no child or family ever expects to face. But Khalid’s story isn’t defined by that moment.

Today, at 30 years old, Khalid is thriving at the Babcock Center’s Phoenix Center and recently graduated from Midlands Technical College with his Associate’s Degree in Human Services. 🎓

His journey is one of resilience, determination, and proving that your story is bigger than the obstacles you face.

Khalid is the first voice in our My Brain, My Story campaign — a series sharing real stories of individuals living with brain injury and the paths they’ve built forward.

💛 Watch Khalid’s story and help us celebrate what’s possible.
