Lexington Health Wellbeing Week 2025 hosted a large crew for our employee walking club on Thursday! Employees across 5 campuses participated in a 15-minute outdoor walk to promote a Be Well lifestyle. Thank you to everyone who participated!

🌮 Cheers to Our Fall 2025 Nurse Residents! 🌮

Last night, we had the joy of welcoming our newest Nurse Residency cohort and their families at a lively and colorful Welcome Mixer! With the sounds of live guitar music, a festive taco bar, sweet churros, and great conversation, it was the perfect kick off to their journey with us.

Highlights of the night included:

💚Meeting fellow nurse residents and forming early friendships
💚Connecting with unit managers, preceptors, and mentors
💚Touring the facility with family
💚Getting to know our HR team, current and past residents, and LH leadership

At Lexington Health, we’re proud to create a culture rooted in hospitality, support, and connection. We’re honored to be part of their next chapter — and we’ll be here every step of the way.

Lexington Health is celebrating Wellbeing Week 2025 by offering a slate of engagement activities to promote a well-balanced and calming environment for employees. Tuesday and Wednesday held drop-in yoga and stretch classes that employees could participate in. The event was led by the instructional team at Health Directions.

⭐ Scrubbing into Success: Nurse Resident Spotlight⭐

Say hello to Elissa Savarese, a nurse resident who brings New York roots and nonstop energy to the Operating Room at Lexington Medical Center! A proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, Elissa was inspired to become a nurse after seeing the impact nurses had on her younger brother’s care. 💚

Originally from just outside New York City, Elissa moved south for college, spent a few years in Austin, TX, and returned to Columbia for nursing school, making the Midlands her new home. 🗽🤠

Outside of the OR, Elissa is always on the move, literally! She’s a spin instructor at Cyclebar in Forest Acres 🚴‍♀️ and can be found at the gym, practicing yoga or Pilates, or walking the canal. She loves trying new classes and workouts but also enjoys grabbing a favorite bite at Tazza or Duke’s. Her go-to comfort food? A true taste of home, a New York classic: a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel. 🥯🥓🧀

Her advice to new nurse residents?
“Prioritize yourself, your health, and your mind, especially outside of work. Finding hobbies to look forward to, especially ones that keep me active and out of the house have been pivotal to my physical and mental health, which greatly improves my days at work."

With nurses like Elissa leading the way, full of energy, positivity, and heart, we’re reminded of the power of passion and purpose in this profession. 💚
