Lexington Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine welcomes Michael J. Murphy, MD, to the team.

Before coming to Lexington Health, Dr. Murphy worked in Camden, South Carolina, and developed a sports medicine program for Kershaw County schools, giving student athletes access to top-level sports medicine and orthopaedic care in their community.

He has expertise in caring for adult and pediatric patients using a variety of nonsurgical approaches and techniques, including ultrasound-guided injections and procedures, fracture care, bracing and orthotics, advanced diagnostic workups, rehabilitation and activity programs, and nonoperative medical management.

Dr. Murphy has served as a team physician for multiple teams, including the USC Gamecocks men’s basketball Final Four team, as well as Gamecock football, baseball, softball, women’s soccer, cheer, swimming, diving, golf and tennis. He has also cared for Columbia Fireflies athletes.

Wow, are we proud of Amy Davis! She lost 100 pounds and did two 5K races.

Then she did (and loved!) our Heart and Sole race last year. The 5-miler is the longest distance she’s ever done in her life. She said it was a huge accomplishment for her and she is so grateful the H&S exists.

She’ll be back next month for our May 16th event.

“This race was the beginning of my health journey last year. It is women supporting women’s health that is so powerful. Losing over 100 pounds has changed my life. I am so excited to experience this race again with a healthier mind, body and spirit.”

We are looking forward to tomorrow's McDaniels Golf Classic ! ⛳

As Bill McDaniels and Suzanne Pucci shared on Soda City Living this week, the tournament is truly a "celebration of life." The event, along with next week's Gala, supports our patients through the Lexington Health Foundation. Since 2018, these events have raised an incredible $4.5 million for Lexington Health Cancer Center patients. 💚
