Please join us in welcoming Phillip A. Westbrook, MD, to Lexington Urology. A member of the American Urological Association, the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons and the Society of Prosthetic Surgeons, Dr. Westbrook has co-authored and presented more than 20 peer-reviewed journal articles, podium and poster presentations, abstracts and grand round presentations. During training, he co-founded the NYU Langone – Long Island male infertility resident course and assisted in the development of the urology residency curriculum. For his commitment to teaching, he was awarded the NYU Langone Hospital – Long Island Resident Teaching Award.

Dr. Westbrook graduated cm laude from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He then completed his urology residency at NYU Langone Hospital – Long Island, serving as chief resident. He went on to complete a genitourinary reconstructive surgery fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Illinois.

Dr. Westbrook joins the board-certified physicians and advanced practice providers at Lexington Urology to provide comprehensive urologic care and advanced treatments for urologic conditions, including robotic and minimally invasive surgery.

Kaitlin works as a pharmacy technician for Lexington Medical Center’s Pharmacy, helping provide medications and vaccines to dozens of practice locations throughout the Midlands. The staggering logistics make for a workday full of multitasking. Kaitlin operates the medication carousels, collaborates with nursing staff, fills patient prescriptions and fields incoming calls all at the same time. The challenges are rewarding to Kaitlin, and she especially enjoys being a resource for her co-workers along the way.

President and CEO Tod Augsburger was recently honored for his outstanding leadership and being a dedicated advocate for the community. The Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber recognized him as the 2025 Citizen of the Year. The Lexington Chamber honored him with the Mike Till Impact Award.

These awards recognized Augsburger for championing healthcare initiatives and supporting local programs that strengthen our region and for exemplifying humility, friendliness, perseverance and civic engagement.

Thomas Tafel, Director of Community Health, joined WIS and the Irmo Fire District to try on bunker gear ahead of Tunnel to Towers Columbia, SC. He got a taste of what it's like to wear full bunker gear which can weigh up to 80 pounds. Some race participants wear the gear while running to honor the first responders who gave their lives on September 11, 2001.

Join us in welcoming Harry E. Hicklin IV, MD, FACC, to Lexington Health Heart and Vascular Center. Dr. Hicklin is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. He is also board certified in nuclear cardiology. Dr. Hicklin is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Nuclear Medicine and the Society of General Internal Medicine. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of structural and congenital heart defects, heart rhythm disorders, heart failure and coronary artery disease, among other conditions.

Dr. Hicklin is a South Carolina native who graduated magna cm laude from Presbyterian College with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He then graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville with his medical degree and completed an internal medicine residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Hicklin continued his training with fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional/structural cardiology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, where he served as chief fellow during his third year.

Dr. Hicklin joins the board-certified cardiologists, vascular surgeons, cardiothoracic surgeons and highly skilled staff at Lexington Health Heart and Vascular Center to provide patients with the highest level of care in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular diseases.

Join us in welcoming Jacquelyn F. Van Dam, MD, to Lexington Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. Dr. Van Dam has specific interest in outpatient musculoskeletal orthopaedic services, electrodiagnostic and preventive medicine, and orthopaedic joint and soft tissue injections. She joins the board-certified physicians, advanced practice providers and highly skilled staff at Lexington Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine and will also be seeing patients at Lexington Family Practice Ballentine.

Dr. Van Dam graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Siena College in Loudonville, New York, and earned her medical degree from Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. She then completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where she also served as chief resident.

A member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Van Dam is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation with additional certification in electrodiagnostic medicine.
