Dual eligible special needs plans (D-SNPs) are another type of Medicare Advantage special needs plan and are the most common type of SNP. D-SNPs work with state Medicaid plans to coordinate benefits for individuals who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid. Arrangements under a D-SNP range from providing a flex card that covers a grocery allowance and over-the-counter drugs to Medicaid, which covers Medicare Part B premiums and cost-sharing for Medicare services. This plan also offers care coordinators to help with Medicare premiums and cost-sharing. If you want to learn about your Medicare plan options, contact us today at 626-899-2600 for assistance!
