Psychedelic-assisted therapy and SSRIs aren’t opposites — they serve different purposes.
Sometimes SSRIs are essential for helping someone stabilize, reduce acute symptoms, and get to a place where deeper therapeutic work is even possible. They can create the safety needed to breathe again.
But SSRIs don’t always reach the root of our patterns — the “why” behind our fears, defenses, and maladaptive behaviors.
Psychedelic-assisted therapy, when done safely and professionally, can support people in exploring those deeper layers with fewer long-term side effects compared to many traditional medications.
Both paths have value.
Both can be supportive.
The key is choosing what helps you feel safe enough to heal at the depth you’re ready for. 🌱✨
