🧘♀️ There’s a teaching in Buddhism:
The first arrow is what life throws at you. The second arrow is the one you fire at yourself — or the one others unknowingly fire too.
A diabetes or prediabetes diagnosis can be the first arrow. But the guilt, the shame, the loneliness that follows? That’s the second.
So if someone in your life has just received hard health news — diabetes or otherwise — consider this:
👉 Be a soft place to land, not another arrow to dodge.
👉 Offer empathy before advice.
👉 Replace judgment with curiosity and care.
Because healing starts when shame stops.
