š§ The Science of Hearingš¦»
Your ears never stop working ā even when youāre asleep! Your brain just ignores the sound input while you rest.
The inner ear contains the smallest bones in your body: the malleus, incus, and stapes (aka hammer, anvil, and stirrup).
The cochlea (the snail-shaped part of your inner ear) is only about the size of a pea ā yet it can detect over 400,000 different sounds.
Hearing happens in the brain, not just the ears ā your ears collect sound, but your brain interprets it.
Your right ear is better at processing speech, while your left ear is better at processing music and tone.
