Sometimes exhaustion doesn’t come just from doing, but from trying to hold everything at the same time. When your mind speeds up and the feeling of collapse appears, returning to what’s simple can be a profound act of self-care.
Remind yourself that you don’t have to figure it all out today, that it’s okay to slow down, and that moving forward one step is enough to keep going.

Not all low mood feels the same. Understanding the difference between anhedonia and dysthymia can help put words to what you may be experiencing.

Anhedonia, a symptom of trauma and the nervous system’s freeze response. Are you familiar with this term?

Dysthymia isn’t always visible, but it weighs on you every day. It’s not temporary sadness; it’s that constant feeling of being dimmed inside even when everything seems “fine” on the outside.

Therapy is a valuable and necessary space, but it’s not the only thing that supports our mental health. These practices don’t replace professional care, but they can support you in your day-to-day life.

One of the most valuable skills for protecting our mental health is tolerating uncertainty. Life isn’t 100% predictable, and plans don’t always turn out the way we imagine. Anxiety can sometimes make us believe that if we know everything and plan for everything, we’ll be safe—but that isn’t completely true. Developing tolerance for uncertainty helps reduce anxiety and allows us to respond with more flexibility and clarity, instead of reacting from fear 🌼
