🐾 Weekend Warrior Pets: Sound Familiar? 😅

Couch potato Monday–Friday…
Extreme athlete by Saturday. 💥🐶

If your pet goes from chill mode to full-speed adventures on the weekend, you’re not alone—but this sudden spike in activity is exactly why we see more injuries this time of year (especially in May!).

🌼 Warmer weather = more hikes, runs, fetch marathons
⚡ But muscles, joints, and paws may not be conditioned for it
🚑 Result? Strains, sprains, sore pads, and unexpected vet visits

💡 Just like us, pets need to build up their stamina. Gradual increases in activity can help prevent injuries and keep the fun going all season long.

✔️ Start slow after a sedentary week
✔️ Take breaks + bring water
✔️ Watch for limping or fatigue

Because nobody wants their weekend adventure to end early 🐕

📞 If your pet seems sore or off after activity, don’t wait—reach out to us.

🐾💛 International Guide Dog Day

Today we honor the incredible partnership between guide dogs and the people whose lives they help navigate.

These remarkable dogs offer so much more than direction. They provide confidence. Independence. Trust. A steady presence in every step forward.

The bond between a guide dog and their handler is built on loyalty, intelligence, and quiet teamwork — a relationship that changes lives in ways words can’t fully capture.

As veterinary professionals, we’re especially inspired by the care, dedication, and heart behind every working dog.

Here’s to the guide dogs who lead with purpose — and the humans who walk beside them. 💛

💛 The Small Things That Mean a Lot to Us

You might not realize it, but the little things you do matter more than you know.

✨ Calling with questions — even the “small” ones
✨ Scheduling preventive visits
✨ Following up to let us know your pet is feeling better
✨ Trusting our team with big decisions

Veterinary care is a partnership. And when you stay engaged, ask questions, and show up for your pet — it makes a difference.

We don’t take that trust lightly.

Thank you for letting us be part of your pet’s life — from routine checkups to the moments that matter most. 💛

Our wonderful reception staff don't get nearly enough credit! Here are just a few of the smiling faces who check you in and out, keep our lobby clean and safe for patients and their emotional support people, answer countless questions and phone calls, book appointments, and so much more! They really are the superheroes that keep our hospital running smoothly!

Although many on our reception team aren't in the photo, we would love to send the whole team some love today in honor of Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Week! Thank you for all you do!

🔎🐾 This Is Why Google Can’t Diagnose Your Pet

We get it. When something feels off, the first instinct is to search.

But here’s what online advice often misses:

✨ What the internet can’t see
Your pet’s full history, lifestyle, subtle physical exam findings, and tiny changes that only show up in person.

✨ Why symptoms overlap
Vomiting, limping, itching, lethargy — these can point to dozens of very different conditions. Some minor. Some urgent. The symptoms alone don’t tell the whole story.

✨ Why exams + tests matter
Hands-on exams, diagnostics, and lab work help us narrow down possibilities and treat the right issue — not just the most common one.

Searching doesn’t make you a bad pet parent. It makes you concerned. 💛
But when it comes to medical answers, your pet deserves more than a guess.

If you’re unsure, even a quick call can help point you in the right direction. We’re here to guide — not judge.

🌷🐾 Spring: A Pet’s Perspective

POV: The air smells different.
The door opens more often.
The outside world is suddenly… very interesting.

“I don’t know what’s going on, but I need to investigate immediately.”

More walks to request.
More windows to supervise.
More squirrels to monitor.
More grass to dramatically roll in.

Spring brings fresh energy — and sometimes a little extra scratching, sneezing, or post-zoomie soreness. 😉

If your pet’s spring personality seems a little extra, we’re here to help keep all that enthusiasm healthy. 💛

Compassion in action! Dr. Kwane Stewart (known to many as The Street Vet) is coming to the Worcester Technical High School on Saturday, April 25, at 1:30 pm! This amazing veterinarian will speak about the great things he does to help the pets of families who are experiencing homelessness or financial hardship (click on the link below to learn more about him!). His work reminds us that love, loyalty, and the human–animal bond stays strong even during tough times.
Every day, Dr. Kwane meets people and pets where they are, offering medical care, dignity, and a moment of relief when it’s needed most. His mission is simple but powerful: no pet should suffer because their family has fallen on hard times.
Come to visit Dr. Kwane when he gives his presentation on April 25 and see for yourself how he is changing lives one pet at a time. ❤️

🦠 Stop Hidden Parasites Before They Start Problems

Some health issues aren’t visible — but that doesn’t mean they aren’t there.

Heartworms and intestinal parasites can quietly impact your pet’s health long before symptoms appear. That’s why spring testing matters.

✔️ Heartworm testing helps detect infection early — before serious heart and lung damage develops.
✔️ F***l screenings identify intestinal parasites that often go unnoticed and, in some cases, can spread to people.

These simple tests provide powerful peace of mind and help protect your pet’s long-term health.

If your pet is due this season, now’s the perfect time to check in and save.

📞 Call to book your pet’s exam today.

🌷🐾 What a Spring Wellness Exam Can Catch Early

A wellness visit isn’t about looking for problems — it’s about protecting peace of mind. 💛

Here’s what we’re thoughtfully checking for:

✨ Early disease
Subtle changes that may not be visible at home, but are easier to manage when caught early.

✨ Lifestyle shifts
Weight changes, mobility differences, dental buildup, skin concerns — small adjustments that keep pets feeling their best.

✨ Age-related changes
As pets grow and mature, their needs evolve. Routine exams help us tailor care to every life stage.

Most visits end with reassurance — and that’s the goal. A healthy report, a refreshed plan, and confidence heading into a new season. 🌼

If it’s been a while since your pet’s last checkup, we’re here when you’re ready.
