Meet Kristen Murphy, RN – our new Transition Coordinator at West Hartford Health & Rehabilitation Center!

Kristen’s journey with us is a true story of dedication and growth. She first joined our team making beds, later served as our Admissions Director, and after earning her RN credential, she has now stepped into the important role of Transition Coordinator.

Her career path is a perfect example of how we believe in promoting from within and supporting our team members in pursuing their education and professional goals.

Demo dust is settling, and progress is in full swing! 💪 Our team is hard at work turning our outdated bathrooms into modern, accessible shower rooms that truly meet the needs of our residents. We’re just a few weeks away from unveiling the finished result — stay tuned for the big reveal!

Autumn comes to work with our Front Desk Supervisor, Lynette, and quickly wins hearts wherever she goes. Whether it’s greeting everyone with a happy tail wag, sneaking in for a quick cuddle, or just being the best office cheerleader, Autumn knows how to keep spirits high. 💕
No badge required, this four-legged friend has already earned “Employee of the Month” in our books. 🐶

We’ll miss Kathleen and her wonderful family, but we’re so proud to have sent her home stronger and ready for this next chapter. Wishing you continued health and happiness, Kathleen! 💐❤️

Every week, we look forward to seeing Shannon Packer, PA-C 🩺❤️ — a Heart Failure Specialist from Hartford HealthCare who brings her expertise (and a smile!) to our residents.

Because we are an American Heart Association Certified Skilled Nursing Facility for Heart Failure, Shannon works closely with our team to make sure residents with heart failure get the very best care, right here at home.

Her visits aren’t just about medicine — they’re about hope, encouragement, and making each day a little brighter. Thank you, Shannon, for all you do for our residents and our staff! 🫀🌟

As part of our facility refresh ✨, they’ve been hard at work installing brand-new 42-inch smart TVs 📺 for our residents and replacing bulletin boards 📌 to keep everyone informed and engaged.

Next on their list? Patch and paint 🎨 — bringing even more fresh, welcoming updates to our home.

🚑 Big smiles from our friends at Aetna Ambulance as they stop by our Transportation Appreciation Station!

Whether they’re bringing us a new admission, taking a resident to a doctor’s appointment, or helping with other transportation needs, our EMTs are an essential part of our extended care team. They treat our residents with compassion, professionalism, and kindness every single time.

Today, we wanted to say “thank you” with some snacks and refreshments — just a small way to show how much we value all that they do.

Meet our “Employee Spotlight” star — Cali the golden doodle! 🐾
Cali comes to work frequently with her human, Terry DeGiacomo, one of our amazing Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA). You’ll usually find her hanging out in the therapy gym, offering tail wags, gentle snuggles, and just the right amount of comic relief to brighten everyone’s day.
Whether she’s sprawled out in complete relaxation mode or giving the warmest “dog hugs” you’ve ever seen, Cali has a special talent for lifting spirits and making therapy sessions a little more joyful. She may not have a name badge, but she’s definitely part of the team. 💛
