I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if your company says it’s employees are “like a family,” RUN!!!!!
This is a manipulation tactic that makes employees feel indebted to the company... in other words, it makes you feel like you have to put up with s**t like workplace toxicity or unfair practices because you must be “loyal” to your “family.”
You DONT owe your company loyalty. Ever. You owe them nothing but your best work.
The healthiest work culture exists when there is a respect for the fact that the company ISNT your family, and they don’t frame your work choices as a betrayal (like quitting, asking for better compensation or conditions, or filing complaints).
