This month, we proudly recognize and celebrate the incredible social workers who play such a vital role at National’s facilities every day. Social workers are at the heart of resident-centered care — providing emotional support, advocating for resident needs, guiding care planning, and helping residents and families navigate important transitions.

Their work brings comfort during times of adjustment, clarity during complex decisions, and reassurance when it’s needed most. Through compassion, empathy, and dedication, they help foster trust, connection, and overall well-being for those we serve.

We are truly grateful for the difference our social workers make in the lives of our residents and their loved ones.

Kindness is at the heart of everything we do. Sheila Johnson, Director of Nursing at Bethel Health Care Center, shares how small, thoughtful moments—like remembering a resident’s favorite blanket or how they take their coffee—make a big difference.

By bringing smiles to those around them, our team embodies kindness every day, helping our centers truly feel like home.

Winter can affect more than just the weather. Shorter days and reduced sunlight can impact mood and energy, particularly for individuals experiencing Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

At our centers, we take a comprehensive approach to resident well-being. By fostering social connection, promoting physical activity, providing balanced nutrition, and creating bright, supportive environments, we help residents maintain wellness for both mind and body.
