The Hearing Improvement Center evolved from the Hartford Hearing League, which was established by a small group of hearing impaired people in 1928. Since merging with Hearing Aid Services in 1986 and with Wethersfield Hearing Center in 1997, the Hearing Improvement Center operates in two locations serving thousands of individuals East and West of the river in the Greater Hartford area.
