Now in its second year, this statewide report documents the growing season for California’s sungrown farms across seven counties, creating a lasting record of regional climate, cultivation practices, and terroir.

Participating farms will be featured in the 2025 Harvest Report with a full farm profile, visibility across Budist and partner channels, and inclusion in the Harvest Report release and media event in May.

On March 12, Budist will debut The Future of Premiumization at a private industry gathering hosted at Vertosa HQ in Berkeley.

This event marks the first formal launch in our Thought Leadership Report series. This new report examines one of the industry’s most pressing challenges: price compression and commodification.

Drawing on market trends and quality standards from adjacent connoisseur-driven industries, it outlines proven approaches for building and sustaining premium tiers at retail.

The evening will bring together founders, executives, retailers, and brand leaders from across the Bay Area for a presentation of the report followed by open discussion. With only 60 guests in attendance, the setting is intentionally intimate, allowing time for thoughtful exchange and deeper conversation among operators who are shaping the next phase of the market.

The MJBowl Grand Tasting marked an important milestone for how awards recognition shows up at retail.

The 2025 1st Place winners were featured in-store at The Artist Tree (West Hollywood, Hawthorne, Laguna Woods, El Sobrante), supported by a dedicated winner display and shelf talkers that help consumers better understand what distinguishes these products.

Six of the winners were then featured at last week’s MJBowl Grand Tasting, where guests could purchase, taste, and enjoy them alongside the farmers, producers, and judges in attendance.
