Public health starts with access to care.

This National Public Health Week, we reflect with pride on our dedication to healthier communities through primary care, behavioral health services, our pharmacy, our SoCal Club youth community centers, and rapid STI & HIV testing and treatment, in WeHo and South LA.

Every day, our teams work to remove barriers and connect people to the care they need to live longer, healthier lives.

In honor of Women’s History Month, Men’s Health Foundation hosted a special roundtable conversation bringing together leaders in healthcare, public health, and community advocacy to discuss collaboration, leadership, and advancing health equity.

Moderated by Olga Klochko, Chief Financial Officer, Men’s Health Foundation, the panel featured:

Dr. Tracy Robinson, Chief Medical Officer, Men’s Health Foundation
Louise McCarthy, President & CEO, Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County (CCALAC)
Grace Russak, Grace Russak Advisory (formerly Senior Vice President and Regional Director, Foundation & Institutional Advisors at Northern Trust)

Medical mistrust prevents people of color from seeking care, but where does it stem from, and how can we make patients feel heard?

We were proud to come together as a team to celebrate Black History Month through a special MHF Roundtable, an company-wide conversation rooted in reflection, connection, and our shared commitment to the communities we serve.

Thank you to our moderator TJ Griffin, Program Manager of Community Engagement, and to our panelists: Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tracy Robinson, HIV Linkage Specialist Larissa Harrison, Patient Access Specialist Darian Webb, and Revenue Cycle Manager Diesha Woods. Each of you brought insight and perspective from across departments, strengthening the dialogue and deepening our understanding.
At Men’s Health Foundation, these moments matter. By creating space for cross-departmental conversation and honoring the voices within our own employee community, we continue advancing our mission to connect men at risk to comprehensive healthcare and wellness through education, collaboration, and advocacy.

We are honored to celebrate our Sr. Director of Public Programs Rob Lester as one of this year’s recipients of the Paul Andrew Starke Warrior award. This award recognizes outstanding individuals who care for people living with HIV in  . Rob addressed the crowd:

“I’d like to thank the City of West Hollywood, the City Council, and the Human Services Commission for this generous recognition. To be included among the dedicated, passionate, and compassionate individuals who have received the Paul Stark Warrior Award—both tonight and in years past—is a profound honor.

I also want to thank my colleagues at Men’s Health Foundation. It’s been a remarkable journey working shoulder-to-shoulder with you over the past seven years, and this recognition belongs to all of us.

Most importantly, I want to acknowledge the incredible people whose lives have been touched by HIV. This virus has left deep and lasting scars on our community, and the current political climate threatens to reverse many of the gains we’ve fought so hard to achieve over the past forty years.

But when I look around this room, I am inspired. I know that together—as we always have—we will continue to persevere, to fight, and to overcome.”
