Your pulse holds the story of your health.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), pulse diagnosis is an ancient art that allows us to feel the subtle rhythms of the body — not just the heartbeat, but the quality of Qi (energy), blood flow, and organ balance. Each wrist is divided into three positions, each linked to an internal organ system, and we read the pulse at three depths (superficial, middle, deep) to gain insight into the body’s current state.
Left Wrist:
• Heart (Cun position): Reflects heart health, circulation, and emotional balance. A steady, harmonious pulse suggests a calm mind and balanced cardiovascular function.
• Liver (Guan position): Represents the Liver’s role in detoxification, stress regulation, and the smooth flow of Qi. A tense or wiry pulse here may show emotional stress or stagnation.
• Kidney Yin (Chi position): Indicates the health of Yin energy, fluids, and overall vitality. Weakness here can point to exhaustion or burnout.
Right Wrist:
• Lungs (Cun position): Shows the strength of respiration, immunity, and the flow of energy in the chest. A weak pulse here can indicate low energy or respiratory concerns.
• Spleen (Guan position): Reflects digestion, nutrient absorption, and blood production. A soft or soggy pulse may point to digestive weakness or dampness.
• Kidney Yang (Chi position): Linked to warmth, energy, and reproductive health. A deep, cold pulse may indicate depleted energy or adrenal fatigue.
Why this matters:
Your pulse can reveal imbalances before symptoms fully appear, offering a powerful way to create preventative and personalized treatments. In TCM, we don’t just treat the symptom — we find and balance the root cause.
Your pulse is a conversation between body and mind — are you listening?
